<t>I received the profiles and track alignment charts for this obscure shortline which became a T&P property by 1923.<br/> The M&NW had a wooden two-story enginehouse. The nearby depot was a two-story structure which stood until at least the late 1950s as an apartment building. <br/> Photos ...

Riverboats vs.railroads (Red River)

A relatively little known book by Louisianan Jacques D. Bagur published by UNT Press tells the story of riverboats and railroads along the Red River corridor west of Shreveport. The T&P and its predecessors come into play quite prominently in the later chapters. The book is called " A Histo...

Union Terminal Co. (Dallas)

Recently a flood of Dallas UT Co. time cards came on the market from the estate of a former employee. They date from 1932 to 1947. The company started operations in October 1916. The T&P Ry. was, of course, a part owner. These time cards show the changes in T&P passenger traffic into Dallas ...

T&P Topics publication

Anyone know the start and stop dates of the T&P Topics publication? My impression is that it started after WW II and ceased in the 1960s.

Does any library (like the ACU one) have a complete collection of these?

Which T&P publications pre-dated T&P Topics?

Westward dome on the T&P

<t>Found a reference stating that a dome car was being used occasionally west of Ft. Worth around February 1963 on the "Texas Eagle." [I'm guessing up to that time it never ventured west of Ft. Worth.]<br/> A follow-up reference states that dome was transferred to the "Louisiana Eagle" (Ft. Worth-Ne...

Last steam passenger train

I have a reference that claims T&P train No. 28 was pulled by locomotive #800 on 11-09-51, the last use of steam to haul a T&P passenger train. Any later claims?

Coal-to-oil conversion (1920)

By the end of 1920, 68 locomotives had been converted to burn oil instead of coal. There were still 26 locomotives still burning coal though.
