Union Terminal Co. (Dallas)

Post by dhogan »

Recently a flood of Dallas UT Co. time cards came on the market from the estate of a former employee. They date from 1932 to 1947. The company started operations in October 1916. The T&P Ry. was, of course, a part owner.
These time cards show the changes in T&P passenger traffic into Dallas from the Depression era through the immediate post-WW II era (just before the advent of streamlined Eagle trains). It is interesting to see trains such as the Texas Triangle appear and disappear in these schedules.
T&P and the Katy operated the most passenger trains through Dallas in that era.
Not sure when Union Terminal Co. issued the last of these time cards. I've seen one card dated to 1958. The early ones (circa 1932-34) had the company rules printed on them. Union Terminal Co. rule books were also published. Seen one dated 1947.
