Description
This is the only known photo is of my Great-Grandfather, Fred Nelson Hubbard. He came from a railroad family; his Grandfather, Father, Uncles, brothers & brothers-in-law all worked in various areas of steam railroads. He was born in Iowa in 1884 and came to Fort Worth in the early 1900's, working first as a Brakeman and later as a Conductor for the T & P until his death in 1935. His obituary in the Fort Worth Star Telegram said he worked the Fort Worth to Baird line. He was a member of the BRT, and has the BRT logo engraved on his headstone. I don't know alot about him as he died so long ago, but when I'd ask my Grandfather about him, his reply was always, "Dad was a railroad man..." .
